Offshore
Operational reliability offshore starts with the fuel
In the oil and gas industry, safety requirements are extreme, and operational reliability is critical. Every offshore operation is built on a promise of availability and readiness — from the lifeboats on the platform to the massive machinery that keeps production running. Everything depends on engines and generators starting when they should. That’s why the fuel must be clean and reliable.
Diesel stored over time breaks down, absorbs water, and becomes vulnerable to bacterial growth. When this happens offshore, the consequences can be critical. That’s where Fuel-service comes in.
We work with some of Norway’s largest operators
Fuel-Service is an established supplier to the oil and gas industry with extensive experience from complex offshore projects. We work closely with Equinor and other leading operators. Our projects include work on Troll C, Oseberg, Johan Sverdrup, and Edvard Grieg. In addition, we’ve carried out large-scale operations on logistics and supply vessels, cleaning millions of liters of diesel in a single job.
Our expertise ranges from preventive maintenance to emergency operations on ships, platforms, and support vessels. Our methods are designed to ensure maximum operational reliability without downtime.
Our Offshore Services
Tank Cleaning
We clean fuel tanks on ships and offshore installations. Sludge, water, and microorganisms are effectively removed, extending the lifespan of filters, pumps, and engines.
Diesel Cleaning
With advanced filtration systems, we clean diesel directly on site without interrupting operations. The fuel is restored to a quality that meets EN590 and ISO 4406 standards.
Lifeboats and Critical Emergency Systems
We specialize in the maintenance of lifeboats on offshore platforms, where reliable fuel is absolutely crucial. The engines must work in an emergency. We clean the tanks, replace filters, and ensure the boats are ready when it matters most.
Why This Is Critical
Fuel is a hidden risk factor offshore. When diesel is stored over time, it can quickly lose its functionality. The result may be clogged filters, engine failure, or failure to start in an emergency situation.
Maintenance and diesel cleaning are therefore part of safety work — on the same level as inspections, test runs, and technical upgrades.
We help you secure your emergency readiness
Fuel-Service is a partner that knows the offshore industry. Our methods are proven, effective, and developed for demanding environments. We deliver solutions that ensure reliability — from lifeboats to main engines.

Why Fuel Quality Matters
Bad diesel can shut down the entire system. Water, diesel bugs, and sludge in the tank are common causes of failure when starting backup power. Les mer om dieseldyr
Dieselens holdbarhet reduseres raskt uten vedlikehold
Already after 6 to 12 months, stored diesel can begin to break down and form sludge — especially when exposed to moisture or temperature fluctuations.
Drivstoffet er reservekraftens svakeste punkt
Most generators will start — but only if the fuel does its job. Tests show that contaminated diesel is one of the most common causes of startup failure.
EN590 is rarely maintained after storage.
Diesel that has been stored for a long time often no longer meets the EN590 standard, especially when it comes to water content and oxidation stability.
ISO 4406 sets limits for particle contamination in diesel.
Clean fuel extends the lifespan of injectors, pumps, and filters. Our filtration solutions help you stay within ISO 4406 requirements.
Fuel quality affects both the economy and the environment.
Poor fuel causes uneven combustion, increased consumption, and higher emissions. Clean fuel improves efficiency and reduces wear.
